Family Saver ("we," "our," or "us") helps you organize your family's insurance policies and emergency information, and share them securely with people you trust. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Family Saver, you agree to the practices described here.
Account information — your phone number, used to verify your identity through a one-time password; your full name; and your date of birth.
Identity information — the last 5 digits of your Aadhaar number, used to help verify your identity for family and hospital lookups. We never store your full Aadhaar number.
Address — whatever you provide in your profile.
Insurance and policy information — details you enter, or that we extract from documents you choose to upload, including policy numbers, insurer names, coverage amounts, premiums, dates, and nominee details.
Family relationships — information about family members you add, their relationship to you, and what you've chosen to share with them.
Location — your live location, but only when you activate Emergency Mode. We do not track your location at any other time.
Device and usage information — basic technical details like device type and app version, used to keep the app working correctly.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
When you use our AI-assisted scanning feature, a photo or PDF of your document is processed to identify fields like policy number and coverage details. This happens automatically. Always check the extracted details against your original document before saving — automated extraction can occasionally make mistakes.
Family members — only the specific people you add, and only for the specific policies you choose to share. You're in control of this at all times and can change it in Settings.
Hospitals — a hospital only ever sees your information after your linked family member has approved that specific release, following a verification step by our support team. Hospitals never have direct access to your account or documents.
Our team — a small number of authorized staff can access account information when needed to provide support, verify emergency access requests, or investigate reported problems, limited to what's necessary for that task.
Your information is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure and is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access is limited to authorized staff, and every account requires authentication. No system is completely free of risk, and we work to keep our safeguards current.
At any time, from within the app, you can:
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information except where we're required by law to retain it.
Family Saver is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 acting independently of a parent or guardian.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the date above when we do, and let you know of any significant changes.
We are committed to handling your personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — including obtaining appropriate consent for sensitive data uses and giving you control over your information.
